Requesting Service

If you need to return equipment for repair/calibration/evaluation service:

1. Contact the Authorized Service Center in your area to obtain a Call ID number or click here to submit a request for service. In order to prepare resources for your equipment's arrival, ensure that we have all your appropriate contact information, and ensure that you have the appropriate shipping address. If you are not in a location covered by the local Service Centers, please contact your local distributor or EXFO Toronto to obtain further instructions.

Please note, an evaluation fee of $150 per hour, $150 minimum, may be charged for non-warranty evaluation. This fee will be credited towards the cost for labour if you opt to repair the instrument. A completed Service Information Form will be sent to you itemizing the costs necessary to perform the repair.

2. Pack the equipment the way it was originally shipped to you or as close as possible. Simply, ensure that it is well packed to avoid damage during shipping.

NOTE: For all light sources DO NOT ship the lamp installed in the unit. If the lamp is to return with the light source, please remove it from the unit and package it up separately. If the lamp breaks during shipping while installed in the unit, you will be required to purchase a replacement.

3. Include with the shipment: the Call ID number, the complaint (include any data to illustrate the complaint), and a commercial invoice stating the value for customs (contact your representative if you need help establishing a value). When returning goods to Canada , indicate that the shipment is Canadian goods returning for service.

4. Make sure that the Call ID number is visible from the outside of the shipping box and ship freight prepaid to your Service Center.
